While Apple is unlikely to abandon the basic iPhone 12 design, perhaps the most significant iPhone 14 rumour comes from the always-trustworthy analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who stated that Apple might eliminate the notch with the iPhone 14.

This concept has gained traction, with Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants demonstrating what he calls a “hole + pill” design for the front-facing camera.

The most reliable iPhone 14 leaks and rumours comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said that the iPhone 14 will have the “lowest price ever” for a large iPhone. This is because of the rumoured release of an iPhone 14 Max or iPhone 14 Plus, which he claims will be a sub-$900 6.7-inch iPhone.

According to rumours, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro might be available in purple. Though unconfirmed, the rumour suggests that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will be available in a purple shade with a unique finish that shifts tone depending on lighting conditions.

Apple has previously used the same colour for the standard iPhone and Pro models, but in different shades, so if the purple rumour is true, that could be what we see in 2022. 

The iPhone 14 and 14 Max are expected to be available in black, white, blue, red, and purple colours, while the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be available in graphite (possibly midnight), gold (possibly starlight), silver, and purple.

This year Apple will discontinue the 5.4-inch iPhone mini, which proved unpopular with customers. Following the disappointing sales of the iPhone mini, Apple intends to focus on larger iPhone sizes for its flagship devices in the future.

A 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 (Max or Plus), and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max are all expected.

The camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is expected to improve significantly, with Apple introducing a Sony-crafted 48-megapixel Wide camera with Focus pixels and pixel binning.

All iPhone 14 models expected this year will have an upgraded front camera with a wider f/1.9 aperture and autofocus capabilities.

Apple introduced an improved six-element Ultra-Wide lens with an improved /1.8 aperture with the iPhone 13 Pro models, and these improvements are expected to be carried over to the standard iPhone 14 models.
